Difference Between Mormonism & Christianity: Part 3

Someone randomly left a comment on Part 1 of the Differences Between Mormonism & Christianity.

And here is said comment:

Important distinction between Judaism, Christianity, and Mormon faith I've been taught has to do with God's intervention in the course of his relationship to humanity. First he comes down himself to set us straight....a few thousand years lapse and he comes down again as a man....the church that follows becomes corrupt, protestants branch out on all fronts basically its a mess. God comes down a third time in the form of an angel to translate the book of mormon and get us on course again. Mormons are about as much Christians as Christians are Jews.

Whoever you are... I don't know if you at least read Part 2 and more importantly the comments on that post before you made this comment in part 1.

The differences between Christians and Mormons are so drastic that they cannot just be called different denominations but different religions altogether.

The differences between Jews and Christians is on how they view the role of Jesus Christ. The Jews don't acknowledge Him as the Messiah propheseid in the Old Testament. The Christians believe He is the Messiah propheseid and not just the Messiah but the Son of God AND God incarnate. The Christians believe He is the scriptures fulfilled.

The reason why Mormons cannot be called Christian is for that reason alone. The Jesus Christ of the Bible is NOT the Jesus Christ of the Book of Mormon. The Jesus the Book of Mormon refers to is totally CONTRARY to the Bible.

Mormons say they believe in the Bible AND the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is contrary to the Bible. As I said before, one can't have both, one has to pick since both don't agree.

To put it plainly it's like one saying that a marble is red. Another person saying that the marble is blue. And then a third person comes up and says the marble is both.

The Mormon faith is the second and third person. Jesus is God incarnate as well as the Son of God (trinity) according to Christians and the Bible. Mormon doctrine says that Jesus is not God only the Son of God. But at the same time Mormon doctrine says they agree with the Bible.

I repeat, Jesus in the Book of Mormon is referred to as the Son of God not as God incarnate. The trinity does not exist.

Jesus Christ in the Bible not only said He is the Son of God but that He IS God too. Jesus Christ of the Bible also said that the next time He returns to earth He would take His kingdom with Him.

If He did return as the Book of Mormon says, then He didn't really take His kingdom now did He? The scripture then is not fulfilled and once again Book of Mormon is contrary to the Bible. Mormons believe in both books but the Book of Mormon contradicts with the Bible.

It doesn't fit. I don't know how to say it any simpler.

They are two entirely different people. Two different Christs. Two different religions.

Hmmmm....

To me understanding that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he was sent to the earth and took up a mortal body, died, resurrected - took up the mortal body and ascended to God is all quite clear in the Bible. Did Christ not eat with his disciples?

To me the Trinity - one person, God, Father, Son, and Spirit with no body is actually confusing.

I'm kind of Glad the Mormons have such a good website at www.lds.org to help people understand what they believe. They're not preachy, they just present information that's up to the reader to decide.

Yes Christ ate with his diciples... what is your point with that statement???

As to the trinity. Well think of Water. H2O. Two hydrogen and one oxygen molecule combine to make water. There's three separate but also one. That's the trinity in the Bible. Jesus the Son, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. Three separate but all the same.

That's what is said in the Bible.

In the Book of Mormon Jesus is only the son the not a part of the trinity. But Mormon's say they believe in both the Bible AND the Book of Mormon. Yet they contradict.

I think both religions are full of it. I wish people would get a grip of theirselves and save Sundays for Hangovers and BBQ's. Religion is the biggest lie created to make people think that someone is "watching" over us and making us feel that even if we have nobody in our lives, we have someone to answer to. Quit following the leader....maybe if I start telling people that I can see everyone and do everything and created the earth long enough, people would believe me. Yeah, whatever.

I don't know who any of you are but it is very obvious that none of you have any idea what you are talking about, you all need to do some research before you start spewing garbage about subjucts you all know nothing about. And to clarify, Mormons are Christians, and if you are still confused you need to buy a dictionary and look up the meaning of christians, cos' you obviously have never looked it up. Good luck! (TIP) You should all at least have a little bit more knowledge about this subject before you post anything again, it's making all of you look like fools!

And of course dictionaries are so reliable. Considering that before the word "faggot" used to mean "a bundle of sticks" and now in some dictionaries it also includes "homosexual". Or "Pluto" used to also be a planet... but now it's not... so yeah...
